Watt Savers Rebate Program

Members or builders must submit a completed Rebate Request Form to the REMC office within 30 days of unit placement in the members home. Claims submitted after 30 days of unit placement will not be paid. Members must supply REMC with all information specified on rebate form in order to receive rebate. Heating and cooling systems MUST meet SEER ratings listed below. SEER ratings will not be rounded to a higher equivalent. All rebate amounts are subject to change within calendar year. Electric Water Heater
Conditions: To replace an old electric water heater, a gas/propane water heater or when installing in a new home. Water heaters must have a .90 EF/energy factor rating or better.

  • 40/50 gallon - $30
  • 80 gallon - $100

Central Air
Conditions: To replace an old air conditioner or to install new.
  • 14/15 SEER - $150
  • 16 SEER - $200
  • 17 SEER - $250

All Electric Heat Pump or Heat Pump-Dual Fuel Application
Conditions: To replace an old heat pump, to install in a new home or to replace a gas/propane, oil or wood furnace. Or install as a dual fuel system either replacing an existing air conditioner or an existing heat pump or installing a gas dual fuel system in a new home.
  • 14/15 SEER - $250
  • 16 SEER - $300
  • 17 SEER - $350
Heat Pump-Replace Electric Resistance Heat
Conditions: To replace an electric furnace, electric ceiling cable heat, baseboard electric heat or any type of wall electric heaters where the total heating needs of the home are being met by electric resistance heating units.
  • 14/15 SEER - $700
  • 16 SEER - $800
  • 17 SEER - $900

Geothermal Heat Pump
Conditions: To replace electric resistance heat or old heat pump, to install in a new home or to replace a gas/propane, oil or wood furnace.
  • Any SEER - $900
