DETERMINATION OF BILLING DEMAND
The billing demand shall be the
maximum kilowatt demand established by the consumer for any period of
fifteen (15) consecutive minutes during the month for which the billing is
rendered as indicated or recorded by a demand meter and adjusted for power
factor as provided below.
An 8 kW demand credit will be
applied against the actual demand reading for demand charge calculation.
POWER FACTOR
The consumer agrees to maintain
unity power factor as nearly as practical. The REMC reserves the
right to measure such power factor at any time. Should such measurements
indicate that the power factor is less than 93 percent, the demand for
billing purposes will be adjusted for average monthly lagging power factor
by multiplying the demand as indicated or recorded on the demand meter by
93 percent and divided by the percent power factor.
MINIMUM MONTHLY CHARGE
The minimum monthly
charge shall be the highest of the following:
1. The
consumer charge, or
2. The
specified contract amount.
CONDITION OF SERVICE
- Service shall be provided based
upon the REMC’s rules and regulations.
- Only existing members may
continue on this rate.
- All motors in excess of 10
horse power will be three phase unless approved by the REMC.
- All motors or apparatus with
inrush current in excess of 250 amps at 240 volts shall require REMC
approval.
- Single-phase service to phase
converters will be by the REMC approval only. The single largest motor
shall not exceed 50 horsepower and total connected motors shall not
exceed 100 horsepower.
- The REMC may require corrective
measures or devices for any motor or apparatus, which in the opinion
of the REMC will cause voltage fluctuation, harmonics or other power
conditions. Unless otherwise permitted, the maximum primary voltage
fluctuation is 3 percent or IEEE Standards 519.
- The member shall be responsible
for installing undervoltage or loss of phase relays for the protection
of the member's equipment.
- All wiring, pole lines, wire
and other electrical equipment beyond the point where the service
wires of the member connect to the service wires of the REMC shall be
considered the distribution system of the member and shall be
furnished and maintained by the member, except that metering equipment
shall be furnished and maintained by the REMC.
RATE ADJUSTMENT
The above rates are
subject to a Purchased Power Cost Adjustment Tracking Factor as stated in
Appendix A.
