LARGE THREE PHASE SERVICE ABOVE 750 KVA

AVAILABILITY

Available to any member where transformer capacity is 750 KVA or greater and is located in the REMC's service area and located adjacent to an electric transmission or distribution line of the REMC's that is adequate and suitable for supplying required service. Not applicable as standby service.  

CHARACTER OF SERVICE

Multi-phase, sixty (60) Hertz at the approximate standby voltages; 277/480 volts 4-wire; 7,200/12,470 volts; or other voltages as may be mutually agreeable.  

MONTHLY RATE

Consumer Charge:   $150.00 per month
Demand Charge: Applicable for all billing kW's $  9.45 per kW
Energy Charge: All kWh $ 0.0450 per kWh

DETERMINATION OF BILLING DEMAND

The billing demand shall be the maximum kilowatt load used by the member for any period of fifteen (15) consecutive minutes during the month for which the billing is rendered as indicated on record by a maximum load meter installed by the REMC. An adjustment for power factor as provided below shall be provided. 

POWER FACTOR

The consumer agrees to maintain unity power factor as nearly as practical. The  REMC reserves the right to measure such power factor at any time. Should such measurements indicate that the power factor is less than 93 percent, the demand for billing purposes will be adjusted for average monthly lagging power factor by multiplying the demand as indicated or recorded on the demand meter by 93 percent and divided by the percent power factor. 

MINIMUM MONTHLY CHARGE

The minimum monthly charge shall be the highest of the following:

1.  The specified contract amount, or 

2.  Charges as outlined under Determination of Billing demand plus metered energy.

METERING

The REMC may, at its option, install either a secondary or primary metering equipment.

When the service is metered at primary voltage and the REMC owns the transformation and related equipment beyond the metering point, 1 1/2 percent of the total kilowatt hours metered shall be deducted before computing the bill. 

DEDUCTION FOR CUSTOMER OWNED TRANSFORMERS

If service is taken by the member at primary supply line voltage of 12,470 volts or larger, a credit of $0.25 per billing demand will be made. The member shall furnish, install and maintain, at his own expense, all apparatus including substation service at point of connection. The REMC reserves the right to set minimum requirements of protective equipment.

CONDITION OF SERVICE

  1. Service shall be provided based upon the REMC’s rules and regulations.
  2. The member shall be required to enter into a written agreement stating the character of load, minimum contract period, minimum monthly charge and other charges, if any.
  3. All energy shall be supplied to one location through one set of meters. 
  4. REMC reserves the right to set maximum starting current values of motors over 50 horsepower. 
  5. The REMC may require corrective measures or devices for any motor or apparatus, which in the opinion of the  REMC will cause voltage fluctuation, harmonics or other power conditions. Unless otherwise permitted, the maximum primary voltage fluctuation is 3 percent or IEEE Standard 519.
  6. The member shall be responsible for installing undervoltage or loss of phase relays for the protection of the member's equipment.
  7. All wiring, pole lines, wire and other electrical equipment beyond the point where the service wires of the member connect to the service wires of the REMC shall be considered the distribution system of the member and shall be furnished and maintained by the member, except that metering equipment shall be furnished and maintained by the REMC.

RATE ADJUSTMENT

The above rates are subject to a Purchased Power Cost Adjustment Tracking Factor as stated in Appendix A.
